Eighth Week

It is the eighth week of school, which means I have already done enough tests and quizzes for past month and a half. But with this week being the last week of October, events have been planned out for the Halloween spirit.
During the week, the school office had been decorated with posters and signs, and above the entry way were cobwebs with tiny plastic spiders in them. Tickets were being sold for Thursday nights Halloween dance during lunch time but I never bought tickets because all of my friends were either busy or not going due to the amount of guests your allowed to take.

So instead on Thursday night, I stayed home doing homework that was just given out to us during the week. I never saw the point in going to it after having it ruin.
My freshman year, the fire alarm went off due to the fog machine filling up the whole gym. We had to stay outside for the next half hour.
During my sophomore year, a guy came up to me and my friends and started grinding on one of them. We were freaked out.
And last but not least my junior year, I went with a group of friends and two of my friends weren't into it. One wasn't able to breathe so he had to sit down for most of the time, and my other one seemed a bit upset and wouldn't tell me what was wrong.

So this is why I never went to the Halloween dance this year. They always end badly.

Seventh Week

It's the seventh week of school and I officially passed my road test Monday morning. I had skipped my morning classes due to preparing myself for later that morning to take my road test. The many emotions I felt the first time I had to take it had got to me. So in result I had failed it on my first try. I had less emotions raging through my body as I had calmed down and knew what to expect for this last time.  I did a practice drive for an hour and a half with my driving instructor, Jon. When we got into ICBC, I signed in and paid for my road test. Sitting down for a couple of minutes, waiting for my name to be called. I saw my family out of the windows. They had came to support me.  That helped boost my confidence but also I had to keep repeating the words "I got to pass" in my head. So when we got back to ICBC, I was told that I had passed and was also excused for missing a shoulder check and a 360 check. The emotions I felt were everywhere. I had texted my best friend that I passed and even posted a pic on snapchat and a post on facebook. That's how happy I was when I had officially passed my road test.

Sixth Week

It's the sixth week of school and its a very short school week. Seeing as Monday was Thanksgiving for us, we had to go back to school on Tuesday morning. What a great week to start off a day late. After Thanksgiving I had to wake up early for my dance class the next day and it was very annoying. My alarms were blasting out so loud that I had to shut them off about 5-6 times every morning. That was the most stressful time of my 4 years here in Reynolds. Sometimes I wish I was able to stay in bed for a couple of hours, but that would end up turning into a habit so waking up in the early mornings are better.

Fifth Week

It's the fifth week of school and it's the same as every other week. But this week, we started choreography for dance class. Which we will be performing for the Remembrance Day assembly on Tuesday November 10, the day before Remembrance Day. It was great to know that we would be performing for the first time in the Remembrance Day assembly as I had always sat in the same rows and watched the others perform for the last 3 years. This time it was gonna be me and the new girls that had just started their freshman/sophomore year. It was a busy week to say the least.

School Rules

Being a high school student at the same high school for 4 years, you'd think that some of us would know our school rules by now. Well no, most of us don't. We try to make up whatever reason we can to get out of trouble, but with being a high school senior we are looked upon to be mature enough to not get into any trouble.
At school we follow the 3 important R's of Reynolds. Which are:
-Respect
-Responsibility
-Relationships

Let's start with the first R.

Respect:
- We must behave in a matter that ensures health, safety, and well-being towards others
- Treat others with respect both in school and in the community

- Arrive to class on time and with necessary materials
- Behave in a matter that respects the learning environment
- Drive with due care and attention; parking in designated areas
- Respect individual classroom rules and all school, district, community rules and expectations
- Demonstrating personal responsibility  in maintaining the physical environment of the school; Clean up after yourselves
- Inform an adult if there is any harassment, bullying or intimidation

Relationships:
- Build and sustain a healthy relationship within the school and surrounding community
- Represent the school in a positive matter
- Solve problems in a positive way
- Respect the rights and property of others

School Rules:
- Violence, bullying, and harassment will not be tolerated
- Weapons of any kind are prohibited on school grounds and at school sponsored activities
- Visiting other schools during the school day are not permitted
- We are expected to give proper attention to personal appearance and to dress appropriately

Dress Code:
- Be safe, appropriate and not interfere with the instructional process
- Include footwear at all times

Consequences:
When not being able to behave in a matter consenting to the 3 R's.
- Assignment of detention
- Assignment of school service or other acts of restitution
- Participation in conflict resolution and/or meditation
- An opportunity to change or cover up inappropriate clothing

Fourth Week

It's the fourth week of school and it's grad spirit week. Monday, we had to wear white and also set up the school in all white. It was a great thing for all of us grads to get together and set up. Tuesday, was grad toga Tuesday. Where all the grads had to make a toga from white sheets and wear it to school. I didn't really participate in doing that because it would be hard to walk home in. On Wednesday we wore orange to commemorate Indian Residential Schools. While on Thursday we wore tight and bright clothing.
On Friday it was Reynolds school wear. Seeing as it was the last day of cops for cancer at school, I had worn my large grey Reynolds hoodie. Only having to go to school for my first class, Biology 12. In Biology, we had to form groups of 3 and make diagrams of DNA and RNA molecules then describe them from how different they were from each other.

Studying and Preparing for Essays and Tests

It's only been a few weeks into the new school year and I've already taken over 3 tests in Biology and have done 2 essay exams for English class. Here are some things to do before a test and preparing for an essay.

Studying:

1. Always give yourself enough time to study. Never leave it at the last minute.
2. When studying its best to turn off anything that will distract you from focusing on the subject.
3. Organize the study space you are in. Make sure it is somewhere you are able to stay focused.
4. Reading your notes out loud is more helpful and can help you memorize more things.
5. Read sections of the textbook each night helps increase the chance of memorizing important parts.
6. Rewriting is also a good way to memorize things as well.
7. Organize a study group with friends or classmates. This will help benefit both you and your friends and classmates.
8. Take breaks regularly to relax the brain. Ex. Watching videos, listening to music, or dancing around your room.
9. Snack on 'brain food' it helps you stay awake and gives you more energy to study.
10. Drink plenty of water to keep you from dehydrating.

Preparing an essay:

1. Make sure you know what the topic of the essay you are about to write.
2. When preparing for an essay, it is best to do a bit of research. Either from books, on the web, articles, movies, etc.
3. Write key points about the topic on a sheet of paper, or on the back of the sheet you were told to write on.
4. It's best to write points that are also relatable towards the audience/marker.
5.  Get as much points about the topic you will be writing about.
6. Draft out a rough copy of how you will be explaining about the topic.

Note: In some classes you are able to take your ideas with you to write out your essay.

Third Week

We were back in school again on Tuesday. After having a long weekend of doing nothing but having to study and look over notes. Tuesday morning was the beginning of dance classes and let me tell you it was tiring. After all it was the first time of actual physical activity I had done in the past 3-4 weeks. Classes were the same as the week before. Taking notes, writing a journal response and making short stories. But since it was Tuesday, I was able to leave school early instead of staying for another hour and a half.
On Thursday, I had dressed up in the nicest clothing I had for school photos. But seeing as it was our last year, I was given a white leis to make this years photo one of the most memorable and better looking school photos I have ever taken.
